Hello, I am Traci Williams (LPC2105) and I have worked in the education and nonprofit industry for over 30 years providing me with a background in serving children, youth, and families. My approach is using the belief in hope and the ability to overcome adversity by examining what experiences we have had that influence our thinking and ability to move forward. Family history and trauma impact us, but with the proper support and understanding, we all have the potential to succeed and be at peace.
My approach
My theoretical approach includes family systems, person-centered perspective, as well as cognitive behavioral.
My focus
I have the most comfort in working with children, youth, and adults who are open to developing a trusting relationship with their therapist and who are usually in some type of life transition in which they need the support of an outsider who can offer them an unbiased, nonjudgmental perspective.
My communication style
I offer a warm, welcoming environment in which I help my clients to develop trust and know that they are in the presence of a nonjudgmental, positive therapist who will demonstrate unconditional positive regard as we navigate their journey toward meeting the goals they wish to accomplish.
My journey to mental healthcare
I am driven by my desire to connect to others and to help them process the challenges in their life which might inhibit them from growing. As a young woman, I was always told I was a good listener and enjoyed helping my friends and family grow and become healthier, so I knew this was the right career for me.
My goals for you
I am very client-centered, and allow my clients to indicate what they hope to accomplish during our sessions so we can note growth and progress.
My first session with you
We will spend time discussing what brings them into therapy, share what their priorities are in seeking therapy, and review the rules of confidentiality. We will begin to discuss what has happened in their life to indicate a need for another perspective.
