Hi there, I'm Obdulia!

My name is Obdulia Herrera, I am a Marriage and Family Therapist. Therapy is a place to identify what is causing difficulties and no longer serves you and choose what and how to discard and replace.

My approach

I use a person-centered approach to start, this helps me understand the client's therapeutic needs. From there I use a variety of approaches depending on the client's need/fit; humanistic approaches.

My focus

High-functioning, insightful people who want to identify what keeps them stuck in certain areas of their life and how to work through it.

My communication style

My goal is to provide the client with a comfortable and safe place to talk openly. I use open communication to let them know I want to understand what they are struggling with (presenting problem) and gently help them identify mitigating factors.

My goals for you

Goal setting is a client-based approach. What does the client what to focus on, and what will it look/feel like when the goal has been met?

My first session with you

the first session includes a basic introduction of my professional self, technical information; confidentiality, fees, and appointment setting/canceling. The remainder of the time is for the client to share their reason for seeking therapy, and talk about what they are looking for in a therapist.
