My approach
Client-centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Multicultural/Culturally-informed Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy
My focus
Child/adolescent, and adults who are looking for Individual therapy to address Anxiety, Depression, General relationship challenges (family, friends, co-workers), Life transitions, Personal growth and self-esteem.
My communication style
I like our sessions to be discussions between two people who get to know one another without judgment and are filled with support. Therapy should celebrate who you are and address your expectations of making the change you want in your life. I use a straightforward approach while adjusting to my client's comfort level because trust building trust is key.
My journey to mental healthcare
I started my career as an academic counselor working in university athletic departments. My goal was to advocate for student-athletes and ensure their voice was heard. As my career progressed, I worked with an ever-expanding population. What I found is that my energy spikes when working with clients in a way that is solely focused on seeing them grow in so many ways that I opted to move into providing therapy.
My goals for you
I facilitate a client goal-setting process, which is always set by the client. When necessary, it can change as progress is made or clarification of the goal grows.
My first session with you
Our first two sessions are an opportunity for both of us to get to know one another and, more importantly, why and how we can begin to build that trust. During this time, you will establish your therapy goal so we know how to move forward.
