My name is Angelica Rivas. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I like to use a behavioral approach in therapy, focusing on both short-term and long-term goals to help those in need of change in their lives.
My approach
I prefer to use either a humanistic or behavioral approach with an overall intent to help clients meet their goals. I have extensive experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My focus
I have 7+ years working with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, and adjustment disorders. I have treated clients between ages 5 and 95 years old.
My communication style
My goal is to provide the most comfortable environment for clients to heal and recover. I hope to build confidence and hope in the people that I work with.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have been attracted to the field of social services and psychology since learning about human behavior in high school. I find it very rewarding and enjoy working and learning from people of all paths of life.

I believe that goal setting is one of the most important components of therapy. My approach to goal setting with clients is unique to their needs.

During the first session, expect to be heard but also to start building a therapeutic relationship required for successful healing.
