Thank you for reading my profile. Hello, I'm Gloria Guevara-Moreno, LCSW. I'm a licensed therapist who is passionate about helping and supporting all clients. I welcome every client to give me a chance to help them to improve their quality of life.
My approach
My approach to therapy is client-centered. I will join clients where they are. I will provide a safe and positive therapeutic environment. I believe in working in collaboration with clients to assist them in the healing process.
My focus
I work with children, youths, and adults. I specialize in anger management, anxiety, depression, and trauma-related symptoms. I apply behavioral and cognitive approaches to work with my clients.
My communication style
I provide my clients with an opportunity to verbalize their feelings, needs, thoughts, and concerns in a safe therapeutic environment. I'm a great listener. Listening to clients' needs and concerns allows them to feel validated and develop trust with their therapist. I simply work to have open and sincere communication with my clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
I enjoy being a therapist because I like to work and help people in general. I have the desire to help the client to improve their quality of life. My Christian faith and values are a source of motivation to continue working with people with mental illness. I love people and see the best in them and believe that we all have the capacity to grow and learn.
My goals for you
When approaching goal setting, I allow my clients to share what goals they would like to work on with me in therapy. I would provide my clinical feedback and impression to the clients if the goals they mention are totally different. I'm here to provide and to be a service to my clients.
My first session with you
During the first session, clients can expect me to introduce myself and allow my clients to ask questions. I would also review with clients issues of confidentiality and reportability, if applicable. I would also invite clients to share their mental health needs, concerns, and thoughts. I would assess clients' situations and conditions.
