My name is Megan Harris. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My approach to therapy is to offer my clients a safe space and unconditional positive regard. My areas of expertise are in attachment trauma, addiction, and grief.
My approach
The most common theoretical approaches I use in therapy are Attachment theory, Compassionate Inquiry, and somatic theory/neuropsychology through EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
My focus
I am comfortable working with anyone.
My communication style
I have a very open communication style. I am very informal and clients tell me that they immediately feel at ease with me.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been drawn to helping people experiencing hardship and I am fascinated by people’s stories and unique experiences. I’m driven to do the work do that future generations don’t have to.
My goals for you
Goal setting is up to the client. If that paradigm makes sense, we will use it, if it doesn’t, we can use other markers to gauge progress.
My first session with you
I will introduce myself, review informed consent and confidentiality, answer any questions you have, and then we will complete the intake assessment and treatment plan, together.
