My name is Gabriela Rojas-Martinez and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in the San Francisco Bay Area working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions. I use various therapeutic techniques to help my clients build awareness, make progress, and feel better.
My approach
My approach to therapy is based on each client I work with and their specific needs. This eclectic approach helps me meet clients where they are at and adapt as their needs change. I most frequently use narrative therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy modalities, and I have been trained in other techniques that I can also use to work with a client to work toward their goals in therapy.
My focus
My style and approach is a good fit for working with adolescents and adults who are dealing with a variety of life stressors and life transitions. This can manifest as ongoing stress, anxiety, and depression. I work with my clients to process and build skills to manage the things coming up for them so they can build confidence and develop a more positive experience.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, direct, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I want my clients to feel comfortable sharing with me and developing a supportive therapeutic relationship.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help people. I have always naturally been drawn to helping people through difficult times. I enjoy seeing individuals become the best versions of themselves.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is to listen with the intention of supporting them to identify what they want to work on in therapy. The foundation is building rapport and trust to be comfortable working together.
My first session with you
What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of our time talking about how you've been feeling recently, and me asking questions to better understand some of why you may be feeling that way. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there. Each individual is different, and I like to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for you moving forward.
