Hi there, I'm Gary!

As a therapist, I understand that therapy can be a daunting exercise. It requires patience, commitment, and trust in order to make progress and improve your life. I aim to provide a space where you can talk freely and feel understood, which is necessary for success in therapy.

My approach

My approach to therapy involves exploring your desires and making solid plans to help you achieve the changes you seek. Through open and honest communication, we will work together to identify your goals and develop strategies to make things different than they are now.

My focus

I work with individuals, couples, and families dealing with a wide range of issues, including addiction, ADHD, adoption, aging, anxiety, bipolar disorder, chronic illness, depression, divorce, grief, relationship issues, trauma, and more. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client.

My communication style

My communication style is supportive, non-judgmental, and empathetic. I believe in creating a safe and comfortable environment where you can express yourself freely. I will listen attentively and provide guidance and feedback to help you gain new insights and perspectives.

My journey to mental healthcare

I hold a Master of Arts (MA) degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, School of Psychology, where I studied from August 1977 to August 1985 in Pasadena, CA. This education provided me with a strong foundation in psychology and prepared me for a career in mental healthcare.

My goals for you

My goal for you is to help you achieve the positive changes you desire in your life. Whether it's overcoming challenges, improving relationships, or finding greater fulfillment, I am committed to supporting you on your journey of personal growth and healing.

My first session with you

During our first session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve. I will ask questions to better understand your background, experiences, and current situation. This initial meeting will also give you an opportunity to get to know me and determine if I am the right fit for you as a therapist.
