Hi - I'm Dr. Doug Lisle. I am a licensed psychologist. My approach is to help you make better decisions in the major areas of life including work and career, friendships, romantic relationships, family and children, and health. My approach is a fairly direct problem-solving approach.
My approach
My approach is a cognitive-behavioral style. The basic approach is to discover where we might be making mistakes in the decision-making process. This approach does not use an assessment of childhood issues, but rather is present-and-future focused.
My focus
Any issues related to challenges with work and career, friendships, romantic relationships, children and family, and personal health.
My communication style
I'm someone who helps you plan what your next significant decisions look like. Working with me is something like having a coach who helps look at how you are dealing with a problem, and whether there might be details you are missing that could aid your success.
My journey to mental healthcare
I knew I wanted to be a psychologist from reading "The Psychology of Self-Esteem" by Dr. Nathanial Branden. In the forty years since, I have come upon many useful ideas to help clients gain confidence and self-regard.
My goals for you
My approach is to ask you questions to find out what you are thinking are the areas of your life that could probably improve if only you knew a bit more about what to do.
My first session with you
I will ask you what areas of life are currently most frustrating, and we will go from there. You can expect that by the end of your session, there will be a reasonable plan of action in place.
