I'm Matthew Kee, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I focus my work on helping clients deal with grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. I aim to assist you by learning your story and approach to life and helping you reach your goals therapeutically.
My approach
There are numerous therapeutic approaches these days and finding the right fit can be difficult. My focus follows a psychodynamic approach while utilizing various other modalities to assist in making therapy a productive and positive process.
My focus
I have worked with clients of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. My focus has been helping young adults/adults deal with grief and loss and transitional periods for individuals looking to take a new step forward.
My communication style
I work hard to create a supportive environment while still keeping focus on the individual's goals. I also encourage my clients to look inward and challenge themselves for the purpose of promoting change and progress.
My journey to mental healthcare
From a young age, I have always worked to find solutions for difficult situations and have been able to see multiple sides of any issue. My desire to work in a helping profession drove me to become a therapist. I enjoy helping people find their true selves and what is going to make them happy in their eyes.
My goals for you
Setting goals is a vital part of therapy, not only to set a target to aim for, but to be able to measure progress. Individuals in therapy need to be the driver behind the goals being established while receiving therapeutic support throughout the journey.
My first session with you
During the first session, establishing a good foundation is paramount. To do this, gaining a clear picture of an individual's experience from their story is the first step in this process. I provide a clear and detailed expectation of what the therapeutic process looks like and what a person can expect to get out of therapy.
