As a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience, I have been privileged to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, ages, and life circumstances. Adversity and loss have been among my greatest teachers, shaping me into the therapist I am today.
My approach
My therapeutic approach draws from solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), emotionally-focused (EFT), and family systems modalities. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual I work with.
My focus
I specialize in helping individuals navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, anger management, chronic pain, domestic violence, eating disorders, grief, LGBTQIA+ issues, life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem, sexual addiction, stress, substance use, trauma and PTSD, OCD, ADHD, divorce, and transgender issues.
My communication style
You can expect me to communicate directly yet compassionately. I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, validated, and empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my master's degree from California State University Long Beach and became a licensed clinical social worker in 2009. From 2003-2005, I completed clinical hours at USC University Hospital under the supervision of Eric Pierce. Over the past two decades, I have provided individual therapy, crisis management, onsite emotional support, psychological first aid, consulting, and post-incident interventions to various organizations.
My goals for you
My goal is to help you gain insight, develop practical coping strategies, improve your relationships, and ultimately enhance your overall well-being and quality of life. I am committed to supporting you on your journey of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and collaborate to identify your unique goals and needs. I will gather relevant information about your background, experiences, and current challenges to develop a personalized treatment plan. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions and share any concerns you may have about the therapeutic process.
