I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LIC# 45270). I began my training as a psychotherapist in 1994, with a focus on working with couples, children and families, particularly clients with a history of trauma and significant losses. Since earning my license in 1998, I have acquired 25+ years of experience and can say I am truly passionate and dedicated to helping couples, families and children grow and heal from their pain and live happy, enjoyable lives with their loved ones.
My approach
My therapeutic approach tends to be eclectic, pulling from various theoretical frameworks including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapy. I invite you on this wonderful, purposeful journey and I look forward to meeting with you!
My focus
I honor and acknowledge that every client that walks through my door presents their own personalized and individual narratives. I have experience with individuals facing eating disorders, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relational issues, OCD, self-esteem issues, PTSD, grief and loss, teen issues, and attachment struggles.
My communication style
Sharing our inner experiences with someone can often feel frightening, which is exactly why I place such an importance on connection and acceptance in the therapeutic process. I aim to create a safe environment that will invite my clients to delve deeper into their personal narrative, as I truly believe we are not built to process emotions alone. As humans, we all have a propensity to grow and become our true selves, unfortunately we aren't always gifted with the circumstances to allow it. I am passionate about creating a space for not only self-discovery and self-acceptance, but to allow clients to feel seen, heard, and valued.
