Hello, My name is Yashwanthi “Yash” Mirji. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice based in Simi Valley, California. I provide individual, couples, and family psychotherapy via Telehealth, In office, and hybrid. My areas of specialty are grief/loss, trauma, and disorders such as ADD, Bipolar, OCD, Depression, and Anxiety.
My approach
As I find that different modalities work best with different clients an integral part of my work includes using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR as needed. These therapeutic approaches work well in assisting clients to acquire new tools to deal with life-challenging issues.
My focus
I specialize in treating unresolved trauma, complex grief, chronic stress, Attention Deficit Disorder, Bipolar, relationship issues, and symptoms that overlap this with depression, and anxiety.
My communication style
Our therapeutic relationship begins by providing a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment for the client. We begin with the intake session where the client is educated about what to expect in our sessions.
My journey to mental healthcare
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I graduated from CSUN with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Counseling with an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy. I got my clinical experience working at Camarillo Hospice where I received extensive training in the field of grief /loss and trauma. My professional facilitation supports clients who feel that they are at a crossroads in their lives and recognize that they need to gain new tools and the empowerment necessary to make changes. I truly love my career and look forward to helping people reach their goals and make life more positive and successful in whatever way works best for them. I look forward to working with you.
My goals for you
My goal as a therapist is to support and facilitate them to collaboratively set goals for acquiring new tools that will empower them to deal with past and current life-challenging issues.
My first session with you
Our first session is all about building rapport and getting to know why the client is coming to therapy. Educating them on the limits of confidentiality, what therapy is like, and setting some treatment goals that the client would like to work on.
