Hello, my name is Virginia Sanchez, and I have a license in Marriage and Family Therapy. I approach therapy with any client based on the client's needs and wants. The focus will be on reaching the goals the client would like to achieve.
My approach
The most common theoretical approaches I use are DBT, CBT, talk therapy, and narrative. I base what approach I use on the needs of the client.
My focus
I typically work with clients who are between 18 and 40. I am comfortable with individuals who are working through grief, life changes, identity issues, anxiety, depression, bipolar, and LGBTQ+.
My communication style
I provide a private, quiet, and neutral environment during our sessions.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was attracted to becoming a therapist after working with children and families involved with the Department of Children and Family Services. My drive is to ensure that clients reach their goals and feel better doing so.
My goals for you
Goal setting is done cooperatively with clients. Clients are able to share what they want out of therapy and set goals with the therapist's help.
My first session with you
The first session is typically getting to know each other and identifying reasons for therapy.
