My approach to talk therapy is eclectic, but very often cognitive-behavioral or psychodynamic.
My focus
Symptoms of anxiety and depression can result from a variety of sources, such as job or academic stress, relationships, family illness or loss, or simply how we understand ourselves in relation to the world around us. Many of us periodically undergo lifestyle changes, major adjustments, or simply find ourselves in difficult situations with inadequate support. As a result, we may experience distress or dissatisfaction in at least one major area of our lives.
My communication style
With empathy, and often through a cognitive behavioral approach, I help those I treat examine and overcome the obstacles preventing them from achieving a greater sense of well-being. With support and guidance, I encourage the use of one’s own inner resources to gain improved self-confidence, a stronger self-concept, and a better sense of mastery over life’s challenges.
