Hi there, I'm Ashwini!

My name is Ashwini Gupta- I am a licensed Mental Health Practitioner. I am a practicing holistic intuitive channel and an animal soul communicator. My goal is to offer an enhanced understanding of the meaning of life and understanding the divine essence of your true identity. As a practitioner of Peruvian Shamanism, I use the tenets of this sacred practice in my practice philosophy. Peruvian shamanism is a spiritual practice that originated in the Andean region of Peru and is based on the beliefs and practices of indigenous peoples. It involves the use of various techniques, such as the use of plants and the manipulation of energy fields, to heal physical, emotional, and spiritual ailments. Central to Peruvian shamanism is the concept of "ayni," which means "reciprocity" in the Quechua language. Ayni describes the importance of mutual exchange and balance in relationships, including the relationship between humans and the natural world. Peruvian shamans, also known as "curanderos," are believed to have the ability to communicate with different spiritual forces, including plant spirits and animal allies, to help facilitate healing and transformation.

My approach

In addition to the ACT school of thought, I also use philosophy and erudition from Vedanta, Samkhya Psychology, and wisdom from Eastern Esoteric Schools of Thought. My work passion is working with couples who are looking to enhance and evolve their relationships; improve emotional closeness and develop a renewed sense of commitment (emotional and physical) and hope for and between one another. My healing and life coaching repertoire reflects a combination of Eastern and Western counseling philosophies (physical, mental, and etheric), mindfulness, and emotional and psychic healing that I have developed as a result of my transglobal educational training and therapeutic experience. I look forward to helping you attain your ultimate personal potential. My life coaching techniques focus on action and working out creative solutions to help you overcome the limitations your mind may be convincing you that you have thwarted your limitless potential thus far. Continuous transformation is contingent upon looking within and making deliberate changes that involve forgiving and letting go ( freedom from bondage).

My focus

I am passionate about empowering my clients to live more meaningful and fulfilling lives truly being in touch with the essence of soul identity. Using ACT as my primary therapeutic approach, I create a warm and non-judgmental space where we can work together to address difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. ACT combines mindfulness, acceptance, and behavior change strategies to guide clients towards psychological flexibility, allowing them to better handle distress and align their actions with their deeply-held values. What is ACT? At its core, ACT is a behavioral therapy: it’s about taking action. But it’s not about just any old action. First, it’s about values-guided action. There’s a big existential component to this model: What do you want to stand for in life? What really matters, deep in your heart? What is the legacy do you want to create for yourself? ACT gets you in touch with what matters in the big picture: your heart’s deepest desires for who you want to be and what you want to do during your brief time on this planet. You then use these core values to guide, motivate, and inspire behavioral change. What is Vedanta? Vedanta is one of the world's oldest philosophies which affirms the oneness of existence and the divinity of the soul. A close look at the word "Vedanta" is revealing: It is the combination of 2 words: "Veda" which means 'knowledge' and "anta" which means 'the goal of'. In this context, knowledge refers to understanding one's own divine nature- meaning and purpose in life.

My communication style

As a therapist with a holistic intuitive approach, I believe in the profound interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit when addressing the well-being of my clients. My communication style is empathetic, non-judgmental, and deeply attentive, ensuring a safe and supportive space that fosters self-exploration and healing. With an active listening stance, I am committed to understanding your unique experiences and perspectives and resonating with your narrative without imposing my own judgments or assumptions. I engage with clients through gentle questioning and reflective dialogue that promotes insight and self-awareness. My intent is always to honor your voice and personal journey, facilitating a collaborative therapeutic relationship. In our conversations, you can expect a blend of warmth, clarity, and intentionality. I integrate intuition and professional knowledge to guide our dialogue in ways that are meaningful and transformative. I believe in communicating with transparency and authenticity, encouraging the open exchange of ideas to empower your growth and self-discovery. I use language that is accessible and grounded, avoiding jargon, to ensure that our communication is clear and mutually understood. By integrating affirming language and a strength-based perspective, my goal is to help you recognize and tap into your inherent resources and capacities. As your therapist, I am here to walk with you through the complexities of life's challenges with compassion and understanding, guiding you toward holistic well-being and fulfillment.

My journey to mental healthcare

My attraction to a career as a therapist sprung from a fundamental curiosity about the human experience and a deep-rooted desire to foster connection and healing. I've always been fascinated by the stories we carry within us and the remarkable resilience that individuals display in the face of life's adversities. The opportunity to accompany others on their path of self-discovery and to witness the transformation that occurs through the therapeutic alliance drew me towards this vocation. What drives me to do this work is the profound privilege of being invited into the most vulnerable facets of a person's life and being able to facilitate a process of growth and healing. Observing moments of revelation and progress, as clients tap into their strength and wisdom, further ignites my passion for this profession. Each client's journey is unique and bears lessons that extend beyond the therapy room, providing continuous learning and professional enrichment. For me, therapy is not just about mitigating distress but also about affirming the fullness of the human spirit. The connection shared in the therapeutic relationship is a profound exchange—enriched with trust, empathy, and mutual respect—that inspires positive change. My drive is sustained by the hope and transformation that unfold within this sacred space, and it is in these moments that I find the true reward of being a therapist. This is a calling that resonates with my core values of compassion, growth, and authentic living, and it is an honor to engage in such transformative work.

My goals for you

In my practice, goal setting is a co-creative process tailored to empower clients as the architects of their own change. I approach goal setting as a collaborative endeavor, one that respects your autonomy and leverages your innate knowledge of self. It starts with a conversation—a genuine dialogue where we explore your visions for the future, the outcomes you wish to achieve, and the values that guide you. Together, we transform these aspirations into concrete, achievable goals, anchored in the SMART criteria—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This ensures your goals are clear and structured, providing a solid foundation for tracking progress and celebrating accomplishments along the way. Listening attentively to your story and motivations, I facilitate reflection that helps to unearth deep-seated desires and intentions, ensuring that the goals we set resonate with your personal narrative and life context. The aim is to craft objectives that not only contribute to immediate improvements but also align with your long-term journey toward fulfillment and self-actualization. To maintain a sense of agency and engagement, I encourage you to take the lead in identifying your goals, while I offer guidance, support, and professional insight. We will work together to identify potential obstacles, strategize solutions, and harness resources that bolster your confidence and capacity to reach your targets. Regular check-ins on progress and goal reassessment are integral to this dynamic process, allowing for flexibility and adaptation as needed. In my role, I strive to create a space where goal setting is not perceived as a rigid task, but rather as an evolving map that guides your personal growth and therapeutic journey. Ultimately, my approach to goal setting with clients is rooted in a belief that you hold the keys to your transformation, and my job is to support you in unlocking your potential, one goal at a time.

My first session with you

Namaste and welcome to this sacred journey of honoring you. I understand that beginning therapy can be both exciting and a little daunting. During our initial session, we'll focus on building a trusting and comfortable relationship. I'll ask you to share some background information, including the reasons for seeking counseling. You can also discuss your goals, concerns, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This session is an opportunity for you to get to know me, ask questions, and discuss any worries or fears you may have. It's a safe and confidential space for us to start working together to help you navigate life's challenges. Remember, the first session is primarily about assessment and setting the foundation for future sessions. You are in control of what you choose to share, and we'll work at your pace. My goal is to create a supportive environment where you can express yourself and begin your journey toward positive change and personal growth.
