Hi there, I'm Katelyn!

As a mom, a veteran's wife, and a lifelong learner, I am passionate about helping others on their journey of personal growth and healing. With a Master of Science degree and certifications in DBT, Advanced Grief Counseling, and complex trauma, I bring a diverse skill set to my therapeutic work.

My approach

My approach to therapy is solution-focused and strengths-based. I believe in working collaboratively with clients, harnessing their inherent resources and resilience to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Through a blend of evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and motivational interviewing, I tailor my interventions to meet each client's unique needs.

My focus

I work with individuals of all ages, including adolescents/teens (13-17), couples, and families. My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, grief, trauma, behavioral issues, anger management, impulsivity, self-harm, suicidal ideation, substance abuse, thought disorders, and LGBTQIA+-related concerns. I am committed to creating an inclusive, affirming space for all clients.

My communication style

Humor, authenticity, and a forward approach characterize my communication style. I believe in connecting with clients on a human level, building rapport and trust through open, honest dialogue. While I take my work seriously, I also value the power of laughter and lightness in the therapeutic process.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to mental healthcare began with a deep desire to make a positive impact in people's lives. As someone who has personally navigated life's challenges and witnessed the struggles of loved ones, I felt called to support others on their path to healing and self-discovery. This led me to pursue a Master of Science degree and complete my clinical hours for licensure, which I concluded in October 2020.

My goals for you

My ultimate goal is to empower you to live a life aligned with your values, full of meaning, purpose, and joy. Whether you are grappling with long-standing patterns, acute stressors, or simply seeking personal growth, I am here to walk beside you, offering guidance, tools, and unwavering support. Together, we will work to enhance your self-awareness, build coping skills, and cultivate the mindset and habits necessary to thrive.

My first session with you

In our first session, we will take the time to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic alliance. I will listen intently to your story, your hopes, and your challenges, seeking to understand your unique perspective and needs. We will collaboratively identify your goals for therapy and develop a customized treatment plan to guide our work together. You can expect a warm, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, validated, and supported from day one.
