Hello, I'm Rachel Samouha, a licensed clinical social worker. My therapeutic approach focuses on meditation, mindfulness, and inner child work to support your healing journey.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and inner child work. I focus on creating a safe, warm environment where clients feel supported. Mindfulness helps clients stay present, CBT addresses negative thought patterns, and inner child work fosters deep healing by exploring past experiences. This holistic approach supports both healing and personal growth.
My focus
I specialize in working with adults navigating significant life changes, whether it's coping with the loss of a loved one or adjusting to a loss of independence."
My communication style
I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment, balancing empathy with clarity. My communication style is conversational and approachable, focusing on understanding your needs and providing thoughtful responses. I strive to make interactions feel collaborative and insightful, ensuring you feel heard and valued while working together.
My journey to mental healthcare
When I was a teenager, my mom became ill and eventually passed away. That experience shaped my path in life. As I grew older and pursued a career in social work, I found healing through helping others who faced similar losses. A few years ago, I also discovered the power of inner child work, which has been transformative in my own healing journey. This personal growth and the ability to support others in their healing is what drives me in my work as a therapist.
My goals for you
When it comes to goal setting with clients, my approach is collaborative and client-centered. I listen closely to understand where the client is coming from and what they hope to achieve. Together, we identify specific, measurable, and realistic goals that align with their values and needs. Throughout the process, I encourage clients to reflect on their progress and make adjustments as needed. This ensures that the goals remain relevant and that the client feels empowered and supported as they work toward achieving them.
My first session with you
I am here to listen and understand your story. My goal is to learn about your background and what you hope to achieve in therapy.
