My name is LaQuita Suggs. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 18 years of experience. I approach therapy from an embracing and nonjudgmental perspective.
My approach
I view therapy as a collaborative effort that requires goal setting as an integral part of the process. My primary focus area of practice is assisting individuals with understanding how life experiences, combined with other factors may impact view of self and others by using a variety of cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and mindfulness techniques.
My focus
I am comfortable working with a variety of individuals from teenagers to Adults dealing with a variety of life/biological and environmental issues. My comfort level extends to a variety of conditions such as grief& Loss, work/life balance, depression, anxiety, stress, phase of life change, relational concerns, gender identity/sexuality struggles, family conflict etc...
My communication style
I am practical and nonjudgmental providing an inviting atmosphere to all individuals serviced. It typically takes a short period to develop a connection and feel supported.
My journey to mental healthcare
I believe that I have been assessing people/situations since childhood. I had an innate interest early on, in helping people obtain some semblance of contentment in life. I am compassionate about helping people heal and not coexist with pain and feelings of defeat!
My goals for you
Within the second or third session I like to establish SMART goals that are tailored toward measuring progress/improvement within a short period of time.
My first session with you
During the Initial session, you can expect an Initial Intake that gleans information from the past and present to help us with establishing a rapport.
