Hi there, I'm Sonia!

I am Dr. Sonia Singh, a licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Newport Beach, CA practicing teletherapy with adults (19 and over) throughout the state of California. I have 15+ years of experience in the field of psychology, providing evidence-based therapy and assessments to individuals for stress management, anxiety, depression, and helping people navigate life transitions. In addition to being a Clinical Psychologist, I have additional specialized training as a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. My practice has been focused on enabling individuals like you to go beyond surviving to optimize their well-being. Together, we can work on discovering and leveraging your unique strengths to create positive shifts and reach enhanced levels of your potential.

My approach

I have a strengths-based approach that is personalized based on the needs of each client. I use a combination of evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT) along with mindfulness, positive psychology modalities to help my clients cope with challenges and make positive shifts to thrive in their lives.

My focus

I enjoy working with adults (19 and over). My specialized areas of focus are anxiety, stress, depression, sleep issues, ADHD, women’s mental health, health issues, life and professional transitions, and college student mental health issues.

My communication style

My communication style is warm, compassionate, approachable, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I want my clients to feel comfortable, safe, and empowered allowing for healing and growth.

My journey to mental healthcare

My trajectory has been quite diverse and has been a wonderfully fulfilling and meaningful journey. I have 15+ years of experience in the field of psychology. I have always been passionate about understanding the intersection of psychology with behavioral, medical, social, technological, and economic spheres. I have a Doctor of Clinical Psychology degree and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in Southern California.

My goals for you

I work with each of my clients to develop goals that are meaningful to them and that will make a difference in their lives and create a path to live their best lives.

My first session with you

The purpose of the first session is an introductory session to build a connection with you and be able to get a better understanding and assessment of your needs. I will ask questions to learn about how you have been feeling recently and possible reasons why, any underlying issues, and your history.
