I am a California-licensed psychologist with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I have extensive experience treating stress, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, trauma, and somatic illness, and am an expert on bio-psycho-social functioning.
My approach
I am trained in evidence-based treatments and the universal protocol for Emotion Regulation to set an appropriate pace for each person. My approach utilizes acceptance and commitment (ACT), attachment-based, cognitive behavioral (CBT), compassion-focused, emotionally focused (EFT), mindfulness-based, narrative, person-centered, positive psychology, psychodynamic, solution-focused, somatic, strength-based, and trauma-focused modalities.
My focus
I work with individuals and families struggling with chronic mental and physical conditions that challenge health, well-being, work-life balance, and daily functioning. I specialize in stages of adult development across a lifetime from eighteen to eighty.
My communication style
I am adept at working within multiple cultures with great sensitivity. I connect with patients to help them learn to heal, grow, and find their way with new tools, new hope, and a new understanding and appreciation for themselves.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Master of Arts (MA) in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles from June 1990 to September 1992. Psychotherapy is both an art and a science, and being invited to witness patients' unique human experiences with great acceptance, an open heart, and flowing compassion ignites my passion for this field.
My goals for you
My goals for you are to provide expert treatment utilizing evidence-based approaches and compassionate care to help you navigate challenges, build coping skills, gain new insights and self-understanding, heal, and grow. I aim to set an appropriate pace tailored to your individual needs.
