Hi, I'm Josie, and I have worked in the field of Social Service for over 20 years. If you are looking for support, someone truly empathetic, a good listener, and someone who is seasoned and a great support as you may be going through or growing through a situation, I am here for you.
My approach
We will work at your pace in order to build trust. I offer a non-judgmental, safe environment for you to speak freely. My approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Attachment-based therapy, Positive Psychology, Person-Centered therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, and Reality Therapy.
My focus
I love working with kids, teens, adults, and families. I have successfully helped thousands of individuals and families needing support over my years of experience.
My communication style
I am a good listener and aim to be someone who can truly empathize and support you. We will work together at a pace that allows you to build trust and openly share in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
My journey to mental healthcare
In the various positions I have held assisting individuals and families, I came to realize that I wanted to work with people who are internally motivated to make changes and improve their lives, not out of fear of outside agencies. This realization led me to transition from working at agencies to providing individual therapy.
My goals for you
My goal is to provide steadfast support and a safe space for you to process your experiences, build coping skills, and make the changes you want to see in your life in order to thrive and be the best version of yourself.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will start to get to know each other. I want to learn about you, what is bringing you to therapy at this time, and how I can best support you. We will begin to build a trusting relationship and discuss your goals for our work together at a pace that feels comfortable to you.
