Hi there, I'm Jillian!

Hi there, I'm Jillian Early, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), and I love working with parents navigating those tricky years of planning, pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting.

My approach

The heart of my practice is in meeting clients where they are, building a relationship that supports confidence, compassion, and curiosity. My therapeutic approach integrates learning from evidence-based practices including EMDR, IFS, DBT, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

My focus

While no two people's stories are the same, my typical clients are those who are in the midst of a desired life transition and are encountering anxiety, depressed mood, indecision, new difficulties coping with daily life, or shifts in identity.

My communication style

Clients who enjoy working with me appreciate the warm and caring rapport that provides the foundation for curiosity and exploring the things that just aren't working in their lives. A session may start with a clear problem or focus, or we may find that through exploration, we're able to identify a pattern or area that needs our therapeutic attention.

My journey to mental healthcare

Honesty time! I actually didn't know that I was setting out to become a therapist when I started my graduate training in social work. I was drawn to social work as a field because I've always been interested in why we as humans do what we do, and the systems that we operate within. I'm grateful to my social work background which provides a context of the multitude of internal and external factors that shape who we are. My specific focus in the transition to parenthood arises from a personal understanding of the transformative power of this time period, and a desire to support the individuals and families navigating this transition in our world today.

My goals for you

Setting goals in therapy can range from the very specific, concrete to a bigger picture, quality of life goals. In setting goals for therapy, my approach is to help clients identify what will help them feel more like themselves, and incorporate strategies to help them reach that goal.

My first session with you

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other a bit. I invite any questions and concerns that may arise, and I want to use this time to understand more about your history. This might look like understanding more of your past history with therapy, or with your present concern, getting a broader sense of your life story and how your present concerns fit within that larger context. We certainly won't cover everything in the first session, but the hope is that we will end with a clear sense of hope and the beginnings of a connection that will help you achieve your goals.
