Welcome! Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and I am so glad you have made your way here. My name is Yolanda Rosas. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT) with 25 years of experience working in the counseling field. I found my niche in life helping others live life one day at a time.
My approach
My approach to therapy is person-centered, developing a collaborative relationship with you to give voice to the things causing you pain and finding tools together to help you feel better. I utilize different interventions depending on what works best, including solution-focused, narrative, cognitive-behavioral, and experiential therapy. I believe the most important factor for change is being able to trust the person you are working with.
My focus
I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families experiencing depression, anxiety, overwhelming feelings, life transitions, grief and loss, chronic health issues, trauma, self-esteem, and relationship problems. I also work with those wanting to improve overall happiness, life satisfaction, and self-actualization.
My communication style
Non judgmental, validating, respectful, direct
My journey to mental healthcare
Like you, I too have suffered greatly and been knocked around by life. These experiences made me believe that with guidance, each of us has the inner strength to find solutions to life's problems and difficulties. Faith in God was a great help in my life, and applying it daily became a powerful process of peace and hope to fill my life with joy.
My goals for you
A big part of coping with daily struggles is learning to recognize early signs and symptoms to take preventive steps and care for ourselves. The mind powerfully influences how we feel and react. Pain, stress, and anxiety can be productive when moving us toward change. My goal is to help you find your voice, work through incongruities, and discover tools to feel better.
My first session with you
We will focus on setting guidelines for therapy. Complete an assessment that includes symptoms and impairments to draw up a diagnosis and identify treatment goals to help direct progress
