My name is "Chris"-Robert Travis, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I follow an integrated approach to the therapeutic process. I have been trained in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy). I incorporate strategies from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) while basing my therapeutic orientation on a holistic/person-centered perspective. I work from a mindfulness and strengths-based perspective. The goal of the group is to share parents' concerns about their children, provide guidance and process struggles as parents when it comes to managing the challenging behaviors of their children, and create a community for parents to support each other.
My approach
Creating a safe and healing space for my clients to thrive is my priority. Empowering and supporting my clients to become the best version of themselves is my greatest joy. I believe we could benefit from the support and encouragement of a trained therapist, from time to time.
My focus
I have many years of experience working with clients living with the distress that comes with addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), trauma, bipolar disorders (previously known as manic depression), and thought disorders. If you are feeling stuck, unsure about your goals, or uncertain about how to move forward, I can help you move forward.

My journey to mental healthcare
I have been in recovery for many years and my life has improved exponentially. I have always enjoyed helping people, and psychology and therapy was the natural choice.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. The most important element of any session is for you to have a feeling of safety and connection with me.
