My journey to mental healthcare
As an individual growing up, I experienced adversities and oppression, which resulted in me experiencing increased feelings of frustration, helplessness, and sadness. However, it wasn't until I received assistance from a clinical professional (my mentor) that I began to recognize that my past thoughts and behaviors were unhealthy and unproductive and did not define my life outcomes. I remember feeling more motivated to pass this cognitive motivation and skill set onto others who also faced emotional and mental health challenges. Lastly, to advance clinically and professionally, Tomikka is pursuing doctoral studies to further build upon the quality of individuals' success and fulfillment in overall well-being and happiness.
My goals for you
Tomikka's goal setting with clients includes creating and tracking simple and realistic goals with client input, creating a plan of action for those goals, and tracking what accomplishments and progress have been made. Tracking interventions and techniques that weren't successful for client growth and identifying inspiring and motivating things.
My first session with you
