My name is Natalie Rhyne, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #97859. I believe the therapeutic space should provide both containment and flexibility, and best serves its clients in a context of honoring the unique needs which each individual presents.
My approach
In my practice, I work to support my clients' overall well-being and optimal function. I believe this to be most effectively accomplished through fostering insight, cultivating self-compassion, practicing mindfulness, and identifying and striving toward desirable behavioral changes. My approach to facilitating this growth is both client-centered and eclectic, and I take a holistic view when working with individuals.
My focus
I work with children, adolescents, and adults - in individual, conjoint, and family settings. I support a range of conditions including mood disorders, trauma, and intrapersonal and interpersonal conflicts.
My communication style
I aim to create a non-judgmental climate via a compassionate communication style. My goal is to facilitate an environment of acceptance and safety. In setting an intuitive and empathic tone, I believe clients can more readily access support and begin the healing journey.
My journey to mental healthcare
I trust that the road to becoming a therapist is as much a vocation as a career path. In addition to education and training, there are personal attributes necessary to exercise the privilege to bear witness to others' intimate struggles, triumphs, and suffering. My role as a therapist not only speaks to my occupation, it is in alignment with who I am as a person and how I perceive the world around me.
My goals for you
I recognize goal setting as a collaborative and fluid process. I welcome clients who come to therapy with clear direction, as well as clients who are in need of guidance to identify opportunities for growth.
My first session with you
An initial session is akin to a conversation comprised of gathering background as well as context to an individual's life and present circumstances. I understand that while some are comfortable diving right into the therapeutic process, others prefer to begin with gentle prompts and structure. I deem it of great value to meet each client uniquely.
