Hi! My name is Melanie Castillo, and I have been a licensed therapist since 2009. I have a wealth of experience helping clients get the results they want and need. I earned my MA in Counseling Psychology and completed my clinical hours for licensure from 2004-2008 at Providence Community Services Hawaiian Gardens. This experience solidified my passion for helping others navigate life's challenges.
My approach
I enjoy incorporating solution focus, cognitive behavior therapy, humor, and real-life anecdotes to help you get through difficult times. My therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Family Therapy, Group Therapy, Person-Centered, and solution-focused modalities.
My focus
My specialties are addiction, both in treating individuals who abused drugs and family and friends who support those individuals; codependency issues, all relationship issues, depression, and anxiety. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I have been a big supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and the challenges that this community endures.
My communication style
I aim to communicate in a relatable way, incorporating humor and real-life anecdotes to connect with you. I'm happy to talk to you for a 15-minute consult to see if we are a good therapeutic fit.
My goals for you
My goal is to empower you with coping skills to overcome difficult times, whether you are struggling with addiction, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, or other stressors. I strive to create a supportive, non-judgmental space for you to grow and heal.
