Hi! My name is Marissa Vellichor, LCSW. I work on empowering individuals to enhance their emotional well-being through the application of evidence-based practices. Our sessions will be founded on collaboration as we work together to achieve meaningful progress.
My approach
I am a client-centered, strength-based therapist who utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
My focus
I support teens, young adults, new mothers, and adults struggling with anxiety and depression. These symptoms can lead to feelings of overwhelm and negatively impact school, work, and relationships.
My communication style
While I think it is important to utilize humor, I also ensure an empathic and supportive environment that fosters an open and collaborative dialogue.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always been driven by the idea of helping others. Seeing clients' progress and the positive impact therapy has on a person's life keeps me motivated to support clients through whatever challenges they may be faced with.
My goals for you
I believe goal setting should be client-based and realistic. I want to support clients in meeting whatever goals they establish and want to achieve.
My first session with you
Taking the first step to start therapy with someone new can be scary. I think the most important thing is to get to know each other and for me to understand what kind of support you are seeking and how I can best support you.
