As a therapist, I work with my clients eclectically, always utilizing a Client-Centered approach. I have been actively engaged in psychotherapy since 2006, helping individuals, couples, families, and early to middle adolescent males and females.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and Family Focused Therapy. I adapt my approach to best suit each client's unique needs. Active listening is a primary aspect of my therapeutic facilitation, and I always aim to include some humor to build rapport and put clients at ease.
My focus
I work with a diverse range of clients, including youth struggling with early psychosis (hearing voices, paranoia, etc.) and adults facing Co-Occurring Disorders, where psychiatric issues like depression, anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder are compounded by substance abuse challenges.
My communication style
I communicate with directness and clarity, always striving to create an open, non-judgmental dialogue. Active listening is key - I aim to deeply understand your unique perspective and experiences. In our conversations, I'll ask thoughtful questions, offer empathetic reflections, and occasionally use humor to put you at ease as we navigate challenges together.
My goals for you
My goal is to be treatment-focused and always work in my clients' best interests. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and start to explore your unique story, challenges, and goals. I'll aim to get a holistic understanding of your situation so we can collaboratively develop a therapy plan tailored to your specific needs. You can expect me to listen actively, ask clarifying questions, and begin building a therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding.
