My name is Penne La Rue. I am a LMFT. I have been practicing for around 12 years. People find me easy to talk to and I enjoy working with clients and getting to know their lives. I enjoy watching clients grow and learn throughout the therapeutic process.
My approach
I have an eclectic approach and use whatever tools and strategies that may benefit the client.
My focus
I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma. During this time I worked with children who were detained by the child welfare system as well as children who had experienced traumatic events in the lives. I also worked with clients who suffer with Schizophrenia as the lead clinician of a day program designed to provide therapy, recreation and medical support services.
My communication style
I am a very open and receptive, non-judgemental clinician. Most people say I'm easy to talk with, I am an eclectic therapist and use many different types of therapies to help meet the needs of the client.
My journey to mental healthcare
My strengths are in child therapy and the treatment of clients with a traumatic life history. I am a nonjudgmental, easy going therapist who believes in meeting the client where they are.
My goals for you
I work with the client to assess what areas and behaviors they would like to work on.
My first session with you
During the first session, I like to assess and get to know the client and their struggles. I usually start by asking how things are going for them.
