Hi! my name is Ricardo and I’m a psychotherapist. My license is as a marriage and family therapist (#107821) and I use DBT and psychodynamic orientations in therapy. I mostly work with adults and teens struggling with depression, anxiety, or relationships. Populations include gay, trans, non-binary, ethnic minorities, and neurodivergent.
My approach
I take a down-to-earth approach where we work together to understand and ultimately free you from unwanted patterns.
My focus
I work with kids in their late teens and adults who suffer from Substance Use Depression, Sexual Abuse, Divorce, Relationship Issues, Self Esteem, Transgender Issues, and Trauma and PTSD.
My communication style
I set a relatively informal tone in which I collaborate with you. I’d like to think people experience my therapy style as empathetic and honest.
My journey to mental healthcare
I changed careers to become a therapist because I wanted to help people who are in pain.
My goals for you
We set goals at the beginning of therapy and periodically return to the subject to see if we are moving toward your goals
My first session with you
The first session will include establishing what issues we are going to work on, learning about your personal context, and hopes for the future.
