Hi there, I'm Jaclyn!

Hi! I am Dr. Jaclyn Bauer, but feel free to call me Jackie. I am a licensed clinical psychologist and I work within a variety of therapeutic modalities. I love working with people who are struggling in different phases of their life and working with them to help them "reach their full potential", feel how they want to feel, and live the life they want.

My approach

I like to meet the client where they are at and we work together to determine what approach to therapy would be the best fit for them. I believe in a humanistic approach, which basically means that I look at the whole person and the personal agency that is unique to each person. I also enjoy Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT, and examining the thoughts/feelings/behavior connection and how it helps individuals who struggle with automatic negative thoughts, stress, relationship concerns, depression, and anxiety. My approach to therapy is that we work together to help improve areas of your life as to why you are seeking therapy, and I do not believe in pushing someone into areas they are not ready to dive into. We are a team.

My focus

I love working with clients who are working on different phases of their life, whether it be the transition from adolescent to adult, new job or career, feeling "stuck", having relationship concerns, or just working on personal growth. I work with people who are struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety, eating body image, and identity.

My communication style

My communication style is that we work together and I am a big believer in a collaborative approach. Therapy is a very unique relationship and first and foremost you need to feel comfortable and trust me for the work to begin. My goal is to create a comfortable, open, and non-judgmental place for all clients.

My journey to mental healthcare

I love being a therapist and have been practicing for over 18 years. I love working with the individual to help them get to their full potential and for them to live the lives they desire. I enjoy building the therapeutic relationship.

My goals for you

Goal setting is an important part of therapy. We work together on why you are seeking therapy and the areas you would like to improve in your life. Together we discuss how to achieve those goals and the different steps we can take to help you feel successful.

My first session with you

The first session is an intake, and it is normal to have a spectrum of anxiety and nervousness to relieve. This is the only session where I will truly guide the session and take the lead. I ask you questions as to why you are seeking therapy and personal and family history. In the end, we talk about if I am a good fit for you, treatment goals, and treatment plan.
