Hello, my name is Kimberly Alvarez. I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist with over 5 years experience. As a therapist, my passion is to support my clients to cultivate healthy long-lasting relationships with themselves and others while remaining authentic and empathic. My belief is that through self-love, boundaries, and awareness we can remove things from our lives that no longer serve us in order to create long-lasting positive change. I am a first-generation Mexican American, and as a bilingual provider, I aspire to dismantle the stigma associated with mental health.
My approach
I provide support, guidance, and a safe space to allow my clients to find growth and feel empowered throughout their healing journey. I approach treatment from a Trauma-Informed, Cognitive Behavioral, Culturally Competent, mindfulness, attachment-based therapy approach and problem-solving perspective, providing guidance and offering tools to help you along the way. My goal is to empower and be an advocate for my clients.
My focus
I enjoy working with adolescents, Many teens become so anxious that it is difficult for them to concentrate, struggle to take school tests, may become so worried that they develop physical symptoms such as stomachaches and nausea, or may have difficulty leaving their home due to fears and worries. Thankfully therapy can help. I also enjoy working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, lifestyle changes, and stressful work environments. Let me help you uncover the root of the problems so that we can dig deep, heal and make lifelong changes.
My communication style
I provide a non-judgmental space where all are welcome. I value integrity, honesty, and collaboration as a way to work together in therapy. I provide therapy through a lens that embraces your culture and lived experience. The work that we will do in therapy will be led by you and will build upon your strengths, values, and your personality. I infuse humor, creative and visual arts, and an eclectic mix of therapeutic modalities that best suit you and your situation.
