My name is Cirse (Sear-Say) Nieto. I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed marriage and family therapist. I am a graduate of California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor's in Human Services and a Master’s degree in Counseling.
My approach
I utilize an integrative approach with clients, depending on their needs. However, I enjoy using person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Gestalt, mindfulness, and structural therapy. I like to meet clients where they are at, as they are the experts of their life. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Seeking Safety, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Culturally Informed and Flexible Family Based Treatment for Adolescents (CIFFTA).
My focus
I have experience working in community mental health, where I have worked with clients of Latinx descent as well as of other cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I have experience treating individuals, children, adolescents, and families. I appreciate individual differences and I collaborate with clients to respect their needs and cultural values. I enjoy working with clients to explore acculturation challenges that may be contributing to relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and difficult life transitions. Additionally, I enjoy supporting individuals on their journey towards parenthood.
My communication style
I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself and work towards healing. Change is the constant certainty in life and life has numerous challenges, but the potential for resilience and strength is tremendous with each life experience. I would be humbled to be part of your life journey as you navigate life’s challenges.
My goals for you
I work with clients using a collaborative approach to develop goals, based on individual needs and desired objectives.
