Hi! I'm Cheryl "Cherie" Turner, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Thanks to telehealth, I am able to see clients throughout CA. I've practiced for about twenty-five years, in group homes, foster homes, juvenile probation, private practice, schools, the psych hospital, and even the county jail. My focus is always to help find the answers that are right for clients, to be connected to others, to be free, and able to live their lives to the fullest.
My approach
My approach is dependent upon goals identified and issues being traversed at the time. I provide Christian Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Grief and Trauma Therapy.

I often work with clients that are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, relationship issues, and life changes.

I offer a warm, caring, non-judgmental environment where clients are free to share and work through the issues that are impacting their lives in a negative way.
My journey to mental healthcare
Although I worked in several different fields, I ultimately realized I have a great desire to work with others. People are my passion, and I am blessed to have found my calling. My grandfather was a pastor, and my family is very military. I always wanted to teach and did so for many years; this ultimately led me to realize I was often called upon to help students and adults navigating difficult life circumstances. After raising my children, working in Silicon Valley for about ten years, and teaching for about six years, I realized, as I was often called to counsel both students and adults, that being a support to people as they navigated life's issues became my passion. At different times in our lives, we all need some care, support, healing, and wisdom, which is what I hope to help provide. My goals for you
During a client's first session and throughout our time spent together, focus will be on goals identified that will lead to healing, learning, growth, and connection. I don't believe I have all of life's answers but love coming alongside others and helping them resolve the issues they are struggling with.
My first session with you
During an initial session, there is some information needing to be shared. I will work to gain understanding of your life situation and goals you desire to achieve. There will be time to get to know one another a bit, to determine if we are a good fit for what you are seeking.
