My name is Edward (Ted) Vander Clute. As a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 28 years, I focus on treating depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and work stress. Using warmth, compassion, and clinical skill, I help you get to the root of your struggles and find ways to work through them.
My approach
Using Cognitive Behavioral and Gestalt Therapies, I help you identify and overcome the blocks that may have been holding you back. I will focus on your strengths helping you feel better about yourself and build the self-confidence necessary to confront life's difficulties.

My journey to mental healthcare
Ever since I was a kid, helping others is a core value that I hold dear. Striven to understand how people from all walks of life think and feel, I have traveled around the world and the United States exposing myself to multiple cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Although we all have vast differences, I also see that there are deep commonalities among us. I seek to empower people to see the best in themselves and find the freedom to achieve what they want out of life.
My goals for you
Central to our work will be helping you identify and refine what are looking to get out of therapy. While your goals may evolve over time, I will refocus our work together so that you are accomplishing the things that brought you into therapy.
My first session with you
During our first session, I will get an understanding of the issues that you are coming into psychotherapy for and what you hope to accomplish. I will also begin to get a history of those issues and the patterns that may have led to them. I will check in with you to make sure I am correctly understanding what you are telling me.
