Hi there, I'm Christine!

My name is Christine Raco and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) based in San Jose CA, I am working with clients statewide via Telehealth. I specialize in working with teens and adults with anxiety, trauma, depression, burnout, behavioral issues, anger issues, low self-esteem, stress, and challenges with life transitions. Using an eclectic approach of humanistic, psychodynamic, DBT, and CBT, I strive to you where you are to support you during your growing and healing journey.

My approach

As no two people are the same, I tailor my approach to you as an individual. Rooted in humanistic therapy my approach is eclectic drawing upon psychodynamic, trauma-focused, strengths-based, DBT, CBT, and emotionally focused therapy. Each treatment is tailored to you, to help you understand your behaviors and symptoms, and identify ways to heal, cope, and grow.

My focus

My style and approach work well for teens, young adults, and adults facing challenges in navigating life. I specialize in Teens who are experiencing emotional and psychological distress, behavioral challenges, and overall challenges with being a teenager, Young adults who are experiencing challenges with the transition into adulthood, and Educators who are experiencing burnout, work stress, and noticing work impacts in multiple areas of life. Conditions I treat include anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, low self-esteem, stress (due to legal, school, work, and/or family), behavioral issues, relationship challenges (romantic and peer), and challenges with transitions.

My communication style

My communication style is warm, accepting, calm, personable, and supportive. There will be times when I will utilize humor, and challenge you to help you grow. I strive to provide an accepting environment where you can be your true self without fear of judgment or critique.

My journey to mental healthcare

I decided to become a therapist after hearing stories of individuals rehabilitating and growing, which led to my belief that everyone is capable of healing and growing. Holding this belief, I wanted to have a career where I could be a part of someone's healing journey and create a space for them to feel capable of healing and supported. Watching clients grow, heal, find happiness, and become the best version of their self's drives me to continue to do this work

My goals for you

Your voice and choice are the number one factor when it comes to setting goals. I collaborate with you to create a larger therapeutic goal that we break down into smaller and achievable steps while celebrating the small and big wins during the therapeutic journey.

My first session with you

In the first session, we will focus on building rapport and getting to know each other. We will go through the assessment and start to create goals, during this time I will check in with how you are doing and aim to make it a safe and comfortable environment. You are unique, so I will spend the time getting to know you, your previous experience in therapy, and your current needs. We will collaborate on creating a treatment plan, and identify where we want to start in treatment.
