My name is Dara D’Elia; I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have experience working with a diverse population starting at 6 years old up to adulthood, all coming from diverse backgrounds and situations, which include trauma, crisis, anxiety, depression, grief, and loss.
My approach
I like to take a client-centered approach to keep therapy comfortable and positive. Accepting that you need help and seeking out a professional is a huge step; I want to honor this time and space to support you through your healing journey and create a space that encourages growth and acceptance.
My focus
I work with Individuals, helping to manage life transitions with school, home, and family. I often treat anxiety, depression, and stress disorders.
My communication style
I look to partner with my clients to help guide them through whatever difficulties have led them to me. It’s important to me that each client feels heard and appreciated in a trusting and comfortable environment, which I facilitate by being judge-free and validating. I strive to gain each client's trust and help them feel comfortable with sharing the most vulnerable pieces of themselves. My ultimate goal is to create a safe space that allows for healing past trauma and nurturing present growth.
My first session with you
It is very important to me that my client feels comfortable with me, I facilitate this through rapport building and learning more about my client and their life experiences.
