I am a bi-cultural therapist passionate about helping guide clients through challenging times. I specialize in grief/loss, complex trauma, parenting, couples, and relational difficulties. I use a combination of interventions in order to cater to the unique needs and experiences of clients.
My approach
My role as a therapist is to guide and support clients toward their personal goals. I used a combination of psycho-dynamic, DBT, CBT, Gottman, Imago, Narrative, and Solution Focused modalities. Clients thrive when presented with a variety of ways to approach their unique experiences.
My focus
My work is best suited for clients between the ages of 18 and 65 who endorse symptoms of depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, patterns of addiction, and distressful life transitions.
My communication style
I am kind, assertive, and culturally attuned, and also use a healthy dose of humor at times. I prefer to listen intentionally and jot down a few notes rather than interrupt the flow. I ask questions and very easily hold space for processing difficult feelings and thoughts.
My journey to mental healthcare
My desire to become a therapist is seated in the strong desire to partner with people towards achieving the kind of autonomy and wellness that allows them to meet their full potential. I have been trained in multiple modalities to target trauma, addition, relational problems, and parenting issues. I believe that there are many ways to help people and I persistently look for unique strategies that can guide clients. I started to see the idea of helping others the same way I experienced classrooms and my own experience in the world. There is never just one way to tackle a problem. Diversity in strategies is only natural since we are such diverse and unique people in extraordinary situations.
My goals for you
Clients guide their own goals for therapy, however, I do present the potential I see to the client and hope that they will allow me to support them in meeting their full potential.
My first session with you
During the first session I will as a few questions and you will do your best to let me know what is troubling you, when did it start and how have you been dealing with it. We'll discover all the ways you have managed it thus far and figure out what you'd like to try and how you'd like to approach the process.
