Life can be overwhelming for a number of reasons and it's natural to seek help to find clarity and stability. Therapy can help you work through a crisis and better understand your feelings amid struggle. The journey can be hard and very emotional, but it is worth the time and energy you put in.
My approach
I believe therapy is a team effort. We will work together to assess your unique needs and capacities. By intently listening to your personal stories and practicing self-reflection, we will build upon your strengths. I am a human-centered therapist. I'll work with what you need, using a variety of therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused interventions.
My focus
I work with individuals, couples, and families dealing with anxiety, coping skills, depression, eating disorders, life transitions, mood disorders, and women's issues. I specialize in working with college students and those working in higher education.
My communication style
I take pride in making meaningful connections and helping others discover their strengths, voice their needs, and express their emotions.
My journey to mental healthcare
Prior to getting my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy, I worked in the tech world where I managed customer marketing and events. When I decided I was meant for a more meaningful path, I embraced the scary and intense transition. Since then, I have worked as a therapist in residential settings for substance use and eating disorders. I have also worked in adolescent facilities with anxiety, mood disorders, and family conflict. This background working with diverse populations allows me to provide eclectic services and interventions. My experience in both the corporate world and clinical space helps me connect with my clients, find realistic coping skills, and make my approach more unique and personal.
My goals for you
Whether you are in the midst of a crisis or want to understand better what makes you tick, I can help you achieve peace of mind, understand your actual goals, and ultimately reach them.
My first session with you
Initial intakes can seem a bit impersonal and tiresome due to having to answer a lot of questions. I try my best to make it more personal and less taxing on my clients. It is a great time for us to find out if we are a good fit together!
