My name is Michelle Godinez and I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). My background is in community mental health. I work with individuals and small groups to build on strengths, cope with all kinds of life challenges, and find motivation for change.
My approach
I find that my clients need to feel safe exploring painful emotions while being challenged to question unhelpful patterns getting in the way of their goals. I incorporate evidence-based modalities such as CBT and DBT to empower clients with skills for coping with all kinds of life challenges outside of the therapy room.
My focus
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who want to work through trauma, release unhelpful beliefs, and navigate complicated relationships.
My communication style
I try to set a warm, affirming tone to build trust and establish rapport. I’m also down to earth and will give direct feedback when needed.

My approach is based on building a safe, affirming relationship focused on the individual needs of the client in front of me.
