Hello! I felt drawn to psychotherapy and counseling from a young age and knew that helping others live a more fulfilled, meaningful, purposeful, and balanced life was my vocation.
My approach
As I see the effects of life's stressors on mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health, my work revolves around helping clients integrate holistic practices for stress management. I take an attachment-based, client-centered, culturally sensitive, mindfulness-based, and strength-based approach, drawing from modalities such as EMDR, couples therapy, family therapy, feminist therapy, Jungian psychology, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, positive psychology, psychoanalytic therapy, solution-focused therapy, somatic therapy, and trauma-focused therapy.
My focus
I work with individuals, couples, families, and minors aged 13-17. My specialties include addiction, alcohol use, aging, anxiety, behavioral issues, career counseling, coping skills, depression, divorce, dual diagnosis, job stress, LGBTQIA+ issues, life transitions, parenting, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress, trauma, PTSD, women's issues, and marital/pre-marital counseling.
My communication style
I believe in open, empathetic communication. My style is warm and interactive, balancing careful listening with thoughtful questions and reflections to guide you on your journey of growth and self-discovery. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can share freely and feel truly heard and understood.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have been in this field for over twenty years and worked in county behavioral health, schools (US and UK), and private practice. I hold a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology / Marriage and Family Therapy.
My goals for you
As a clinical supervisor of therapist interns, I believe in practicing what I preach and continue to work on my own path of self-growth and individuation. My goals for you are to help you live a more fulfilled, meaningful, purposeful, and balanced life.
