My name is Anna Grabarczyk (grah-bar-chick). I am Psychotherapist with 11 years of experience. Currently working mainly with adults , and adolescents, but I am also experienced working with couples and families.
My approach
My approach to therapy varies based on the needs and conditions of the people I work with. I predominantly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Attachment-Based theory, and the Existential approach. Less frequently Gottman methods, and Trauma-Informed.
My focus
I have a special interest in working with people who have challenges with anxiety, grief, depression, relationship issues, multicultural family, immigration, career transition, empty nest syndrome, aging, spiritual or religious distress. I also specialize in the treatment of trauma, and stress-related disorders (flashbacks, ruminating thoughts, nightmares).
My communication style
My style is collaborative, direct, challenging, and solution-focused without compromising compassion and empathy. Having a European upbringing and living in the United States for many years, I am drawn to bring a diverse psychological and cultural understanding to my work with clients from many different backgrounds. I respect the diverse belief systems and faiths of my patients, and their support in the healing process.
My journey to mental healthcare
I feel fortunate to be in a profession that has allowed me to gain endless insight into myself and others. To a large extent, we as therapists change with our patients and owe our development to them.
