Hello fellow humans! I practice from a client-centered, harm-reduction, trauma & culture-informed approach.
My approach
I believe that clients, as humans, have the answers and as clinicians, we are granted special permission to join clients in helping to understand and adapt their stories. My approach draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), coaching, family systems, humanistic therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, multicultural and strength-based frameworks, play therapy, positive psychology, and reality therapy.
My focus
I focus on working with individuals and have experience with adolescents and teens, older adults, men's issues, women's issues, and pregnancy/prenatal/postpartum. My specialties include ADHD, aging, anxiety, career counseling, coping skills, depression, family conflict, job stress, learning disabilities, life coaching, panic attacks, school issues, self-esteem, stress, trauma and PTSD, and weight loss.
My communication style
I have learned that genuine relationships, clear and direct communication, a sense of humor, and the ability and willingness to adapt are the keys to this work we do.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have a history of working with adolescents with Developmental Delays and have a background in Behavior Therapy. I earned my Master's degree in Counseling from California State University, Sacramento.
My goals for you
I openly seek opportunities to promote wellness and connect with others within our community and with families to promote overall systemic health.
