Welcome! My name is Tricia Baker, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing telehealth services throughout California. My approach is grounded in the belief that every individual has the potential to grow and change and is deserving of acceptance. I am experienced in working with individuals seeking help with anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, self-esteem issues, life transitions, and relationship issues.
My approach
I employ techniques that draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Psychodynamic and Person-Centered Therapy. I will assist you in increasing self-awareness by helping you to uncover how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect your life experiences. Through our work together, I can also assist you in exploring and gaining an understanding of how current reactions are impacted by past experiences and to reduce the harmful impact of shame. As a Level 1 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I can help you to re-establish a sense of safety, identify triggers, and reduce traumatic stress symptoms.
My focus
I have found that my therapeutic style is a good fit for adults struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and trauma. My clients often come to me for assistance in the management of anxious thoughts, challenging negative beliefs that are holding them back, building confidence, addressing difficulties in maintaining fulfilling relationships, and identifying how physical and emotional responses to trauma are impacting their current life experiences.
My communication style
I feel that my greatest strength as a therapist is creating a trusting, non-judgmental, safe space in which my clients feel heard and empowered. Through observations of your emotional and behavioral patterns, I strive to provide insight that will assist you in breaking cycles that may no longer be serving you.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting by empowering you to identify outcomes that you would like to achieve and assisting you in breaking down your self-identified areas of focus into manageable steps. Together, we will work collaboratively to develop healthier habits, track your progress, recognize your growth, and celebrate milestones.
My first session with you
Our first session together will be an opportunity for us to explore what you hope to address in treatment and any questions that you may have regarding the therapeutic process. I will discuss your expectations of treatment, and my ethical obligations to you as your therapist, and review general questions to get a sense of your concerns. I will provide space for you to discuss your goals for treatment so that we can work collaboratively to create a treatment plan that best meets your needs.
