I am Lauren Turner, LCSW (she/her). I use a Mindfulness and Performance approach to therapy to help high performers and athletes
My approach
I help with confidence and relationship building around wanting to perform better in your life and work. I encourage having a healthy work-life balance as well as the value of rest to improve mental health conditions. I specialize in a mindfulness-based approach and I have authored a book called, "The Athlete's Guide to Mindfulness: An Adult Playbook" which helps to support our sessions.
My focus
I typically work with high-performing athletes, actors, or performers, supporting them in taking excellent talent and confidence to the next level. I help clients find ways to manage their anxiety and find ways to have peace in the day.
My communication style
I have a cozy environment filled with books in my office and use encouragement and affirmations around the support you may need. I attempt to be centered and present in our sessions and hope for the same from you.
My journey to mental healthcare
I am a good listener and problem solver, I am open-minded and driven to normalize mental health in athlete communities and communities of color.
My goals for you
I work with people who are used to having their goals accomplished and I support goal setting by helping clients set a goal and break it up into more reasonable steps to accomplish their goals during therapy.
My first session with you
I will ask you some questions as well as giving you the opportunity to offer some solutions in the moment as well as giving you space to talk through your reason for coming to therapy.
