Welcome! No matter what circumstances brought you to seek help, you are further along in your journey to greater well-being today than you were yesterday simply because you are here. Congratulations on taking this vital step to live your best life! Let me tell you a little about myself, my professional background, and how I can support you as you navigate the challenges you are currently facing.
My approach
I come from a biopsychosocial perspective, an interdisciplinary model that looks at the interconnection between biology, psychology, and socio-environmental factors and how they impact a person's well-being. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
My focus
My specialties include treating complex trauma, depression, and anxiety. I am experienced in working with minors (13-17), children (5-7), and individuals struggling with issues such as panic attacks, sleep or insomnia, coping skills, stress, sexual abuse, self-esteem, relationship issues, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), life transitions, grief, bipolar disorder, ADHD, women's issues, parenting, mood disorders, family conflict, anger management, and addiction.
My communication style
I believe in open, honest communication where you feel heard and validated. My style is warm and collaborative - we'll work together to help you gain insight and find solutions that resonate with you. I'll provide a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings without judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have a master's degree in clinical social work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, and most of my experience as a therapist has occurred in a community mental health setting serving low-income, vulnerable individuals. I completed my clinical hours for licensure from August 2017 to December 2020 at Palmdale Mental Health Center in Palmdale, CA.
