Hi, I'm Paul Davila. I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I utilize a client-centered approach and have experience working with clients with mood disorders, as well as substance abuse disorders.
My approach
My approach to therapy generally involves CBT and solution-focused theoretical approaches.
My focus
I have years of experience working with clients in a psychiatric hospital setting as well as substance abuse outpatient treatment facility. I have worked with children, teens, and adults. I have worked with individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, adjusting to new environments/life changes, and those working on their sobriety.
My communication style
I utilize open communication and create a relaxing, nonjudgmental environment for my clients. I want everyone to feel comfortable in our sessions and feel they can be as open as they'd like to be.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always enjoyed helping people in my profession. I started out as a teacher for grades k-12 and wanted to do more with my career outside of the classroom. I decided on the journey to become a licensed psychotherapist and have enjoyed helping people from all walks of life.
My goals for you
I like to focus on setting goals in our first session. I feel it's important to meet my clients where they are at and make goal setting a simple approach. I like for my clients to have realistic goals and want them to know we can always reevaluate goals as we move along with the therapeutic process.
My first session with you
In our first session, I want to hear from my clients. I want to know what brought them to therapy, what they want to work on, and hope to accomplish and formulate goals.
