Hi there, I'm Cynthia!

I am a licensed therapist committed to helping those who suffer from mental health disorders. I use a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals. If you are struggling to cope with anxiety, depression, and substance use I can help you navigate these issues and offer a path forward.

My approach

I use a collaborative approach to help clients reach their goals. My therapeutic modalities include Client-Centered Therapy, Coaching, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Cognitive Processing (CPT), Dialectical (DBT), Grief Therapy, Group Therapy, Humanistic, Mindfulness-Based, Person-Centered, and Solution Focused techniques.

My focus

I specialize in treating individuals and couples, including minors ages 13-17. My areas of expertise include addiction, alcohol use, anger management, anxiety, behavioral issues, bipolar disorder, borderline personality, codependency, coping skills, depression, domestic violence, drug abuse, dual diagnosis, gambling, grief, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive (OCD), relapse prevention, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress, substance use, and suicidal ideation.

My communication style

I strive to create an open, collaborative dialogue where you feel heard and supported. My communication style is warm, non-judgmental, and direct. I listen attentively and provide feedback and guidance to help you gain clarity and work towards your goals. Through empathetic and honest conversation, we'll build a trusting therapeutic relationship.

My journey to mental healthcare

I earned my Master of Science (MS) degree from the University of Phoenix in Sacramento, CA, where I studied from September 2005 to May 2008. This education provided me with the knowledge and training to become a licensed therapist and help those struggling with mental health issues.

My goals for you

My goal is to provide you with the support, guidance, and effective therapeutic techniques to help you cope with your mental health challenges, gain insight and self-awareness, develop healthy coping skills, and make positive changes to improve your overall wellbeing and quality of life. I am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings.

My first session with you

During our first session, we will discuss what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I will gather some background information and we will begin to develop a therapeutic rapport. We will collaborate to create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals. You can expect me to listen attentively, offer support and feedback, and begin to provide you with tools and strategies to start addressing your concerns.
